Is the new AD on campus yet? Has anyone met him yet?

Met him a couple of weeks ago at the announcement & subsequent baseball game. He wouldn't take pictures with folks with anything they were wearing that said #FreeUAB unless they covered up. His wife was inquisitive re: FreeUAB.

I think when he realizes there is a 60 mile long leash around Dr Watts' neck, he will better understand what he is up against. A lot of suppositions will be replaced by facts by the middle of June if all goes according to scheduled announcements.

That's telling right there. Shows the conversation about #FreeUAB has been had, otherwise he wouldn't have cared what people were wearing. I didn't try to take a picture with him after shaking his hand, but I wonder if he would have with my "Fire Ray Watts" shirt?

He started this week, I believe. I doubt we'll hear much from him until Watts says something... because what can he say before then?

I think you guys need to cut him some slack. He can't run up and stick is middle finger in Ray Watts' face before he's even started the job.

Yes. He has to have a base of support before he stands up to his boss

I'll take silence. He could be giving comments to PR driven spin articles supporting Watts and Co. Fortunately those have seemed to stop all of a sudden...

I shook his hand on May 5th. Of course I haven't seen him since...

The man and his family were living in Philadelphia and his official start date in Birmingham was Monday... a couple of you need to get a grip on reality.

Well, since May 18th was his first day on the job that's not shocking. Even less shocking if you don't work in the Athletics Department.

I would take his photo op choices as simply being resistant to appearing to be taking sides before he has even made the job his own. Newcomers in a business office can find themselves drawn into office politics before they really know much about the people involved. As I said above, I think he will find out about who is connected to whom before very long.

I think I was in the group with Blazerham. Had a good conversation with AD Ingram. I told him I knew he couldn't say much but we wanted football back and the report used to drop the programs was bogus. Told him he was UAB arriving at a great time and could be involved in something great. I really don't want to comment on anymore of the conversation with wife but just to let you know we made sure she was well informed and we gave her a really good reference to talk to to get the straight answers - "don't just listen to us". AD and wife expressed their excitement about coming to Birmingham, had old friends living here and already loved the city. They want to buy a house in Vestavia Hills so they can be at as many sporting events as possible.

Yeah, I'm of the same mindset. Got to give the guy some time to settle in and let him speak through his actions. Right now, I don't feel any kind of way about him one way or another, but I'm definitely going to give him a real chance before I start forming any kind of opinion.

Has any of the news media tried to ask for an interview/comments from Ingram since he's official now??? Been denied???
