UAB and Auburn have agreed to a four-game men's basketball series that will begin with the season opener on Nov. 13, 2015 at Auburn. The two teams will play in consecutive seasons through the 2018-19 season.

In addition to the upcoming season opener, the deal calls for the Blazers to host Auburn at Bartow Arena during the 2016-17 season and to return to Auburn Arena during the 2017-18 campaign. The two teams will meet at Legacy Arena (BJCC) in downtown Birmingham during the 2018-19 season.

Cue the "how dare we not play our last game at Bartow" outrage.

This is great news.... now lets work on another one with Temple or NC State or Kansas State.
Perfect. This was exactly the deal and the timing of the games I wanted to see.(bartow before the bjcc). Hopefully this becomes a permanent fixture.
We need to take over their arena!!!!
I enjoyed the C-USA title game at the BJCC. Good series.
I was very pleased with the BJCC. I can not wait for us to play them in front of a sold out arena in November. It's going to be a classic.
Auburn's line up is going to look very different next year.

Canada, Ross-Miller, Harrell, and Mason are all gone. However, they bring in 2 ESPN top 100 recruits in Purifoy (64) and Spencer (59). Barring a really poor showing in Destin, we should be favored at Auburn this year.

*Edit the ECC is after the Auburn game. We could very well both be undefeated going in to the game unless one of us adds a formidable opponent before the match up.
Here we are promoting their poor basketball program...... It is a win for them.

It says this game will be the season opener. Our first game was 11/15 last year, so outside of an exhibition, I am guessing it will be our opener too. I think playing them early is huge for us, and then having them return to bartow when we are a veteran team is even bigger. I'm very glad we were able to work this out
I'm mainly concerned about the win on the court. I want four.
Certainly match up well against them and I love that it's the first game of the season too.

Also would seem perfect for a tournament with uat playing samford since both have former NBA players at hc.

Young folks....
Just curious, but is there a "buy out" clause in the contract to let either team get out if results of the first game are "unsatisfactory" or if UAB doesn't remain in C-USA?
I'm sure we could get the Auburn fans to join us for some chants...

Glad we made this deal!
Interesting that we head in the same direction three times in November.

At Auburn. 6 days later at Troy. Then at Niceville Florida later in the month.
This will be one hack of an exciting early season.

I was thinking the same thing. Nice road exposure.

Yep. The road and neutral site games are stacking up nicely for a solid rpi. Now, we need to take care of business OOC and in conference. We have done only one in each of the past two years.
My first thought was surprise that we didn't have a warmup cupcake game before Auburn, until I realized that Auburn is our warmup for the Niceville tournament. 03-lmfao

They will most likely be the ones wishing for a warm up. We'll more thank likely have the same starting 5. This could be awesome.
