Smith and the administration have begun to hear what Hire, Justin Craft and others have been saying since last fall.

Yep, caught that myself. It places Smith on the side he has been fighting for all to the time unless, as I have always suspected, he has been playing both ends against the middle the entire time.

Can you imagine Wes Smith as a Trustee representing UAB. 03-puke
I dont know Wes Smith personally but by his body language last night he was caught off guard by the amount. I think he has been playing both sides primarily due to his business interest with UAB. But i think he realize last night which side had the momentum and he'll probably take credit for being apart of the solution but the truth speaks otherwise.
I wondered if he noticed that he had very little applause when he introduced himself compared to when the other members of the task force introduced themselves.

I know for a fact that Wes Smith did not know how much was already raised until we all heard the $6 million dollar figure last night..... and he still doesn't know how much they have raised. And of course there is a good reason for that.
Craft and Co. are playing this game perfectly. No goal amount has been set and a large figure was secured privately. I'm very impressed. We are in good hands.

Reading the tea leaves it seems like the outlook is changing for the better.

Private conversations with Dr. Watts probably started as soon as the meeting adjourned last night. I think its face saving time for the administration and they should be looking for away out of this nightmare of their own creation. This has been played masterfully ...the foundation is playing chess and the administration checkers the entire time.

Don't know Wes either but know enough about the politics game & what we've seen of his actions & he's just playing the survival game playing to both sides & which way the wind is blowing without truly committing to any side. After last night, he might be seeing the light & choosing the side but again it could just be another looking to survive another day as Switzerland when the Watzi's & Allies are fighting all around you.

I saw all of the Wes Smith I need to see during the NAS meeting Tuesday night, thank you very much.

Which is why we are going to talk to Jack and Jabo to ensure the new legislation does not rely the NAS leadership to nominate UAB representatives to the UA BOT.

Unfortunately I agree. The NAS has proven themselves to not be trustworthy. It is time for an independent organization for UAB alumni. No matter what the sooner Becky and Shirley are gone the better.
I think we are witnessing something special. What we have here is the rebirth of the blazernation in full force. No longer are we hidden from plain sight, we are proud, vocal, and numerous in stature. I think the Administration for sometime now have been some what hampered by individuals whos loyalties have been some place other than UAB. This movement in time will correct that and we'll have a built in internal shield to prevent those who seek to harm the University from gaining any kind of foot hold.
I agree.

Yep!
@KD: I noticed a look on his face when Justin dropped the file on the stage floor, then went on to state how much money was in that folder, then he suddenly comes out of another bag, talking about ensuring better facilities for our stolen teams. Is anyone besides me thst is at a loss for understanding why none of UAB board representation was there for that meeting , or are they just there to laugh at all of Cubby's jokes?
I am on pins and needles waiting for that CSS Report and for Filler's announcement.
