Quote:It's no coincidence that all three finalists for the AD job had deep football backgrounds. The search committee made it clear that it wants to see football return to UAB.

Ingram can help make that happen. When I asked if he believes bringing football back is an option on the table, he said, "I believe that it is."

Quote:If you were a UAB football fan reading between every line Tuesday, that was a ray of hope. So was the raw emotion he displayed when he had to stop and gather himself near the end of his prepared remarks as he said and showed how proud he is to have this job.

It was unfair to expect Ingram to have all the answers at his first public appearance, but he'll have to get up to speed in a hurry. The CSS report is due by May 15. He said his first official day on the job is May 18.

CSS report due 5/15 and the C-USA decision on UAB membership is due 6/5. He will have to get up to speed in a hurry.
I thought the CUSA decision has pretty much been leaked. There is no mystery there.
We will be in C-USA in 2015-2016 unless something changes between now and June. We don't know the specifics of funding and terms/time table for decision on UAB football returning and getting to remain in C-USA.

I can't quantify the chances of it happening. But I'm sure Watts and his crowd are trying to arrange membership in a different conference (that does not have FBS football) as of July 1, less than 8 weeks from now.
You are dead spot on. This is why tonight is important. It's step one to putting a stop to this BS.
