All three of those guys look good to a simple eye test. Not being Bama guys is a plus. That wasn't by any means a requirement for me, but it sure does not hurt.

It pretty much was for me. We need our own people, and now more than ever, adding a person with bama ties would have been a horrible idea.

Not being a "Bama guy" and not being from a basketball-only conference removes some of the speculation about future intentions. But what we also have are three outsiders who have never been the head guy. They all have experience at multiple universities, but only one with experience at a school at the "G5" level. Mark Ingram is the only one who knows what it's like to have to fight for fan support and donations at a basketball school trying to redevelop a football program. Temple is basically the UAB of the old Big East... well, as I type that, Iowa St is a lot like the UAB of the Big12, too.
Temple has a history of a strong AD office. RC Johnson who revitalized the AD department at Memphis came from Temple.
Those all seem like solid choices. I'd actually prefer someone that's not from around here, though.
All three very solid.

My choices (I have no say like the rest of us lol)

1. Ingram
2. Harris
3. Fagg

I'll say the proof will be in the pudding but any three could be a home run hire or a bust. They all have the credentials.
Only thing I would see wrong w/ the candidates & it's a bit of a stretch but them all being outsiders, they might not be as knowledgeable about of politics of UAB athletics & the BOT so would be blindsided by the issue. Fagg might be able to get best informed w/ Gottfried being at NC St. Them coming from some pretty top notch programs/leagues that have all sports, I think will ease some minds but as we all know that matters not to Watts/BOT as they'll still do as they please regardless of outside opinions.

Do Memphis fans still hate RC Johnson? Or did they loosen up after he got them into the AAC?
I don't think anybody interviewing for this job could be blindsided by the bot issues at this point. There would be no excuse for that with all the recent information that is out there now.

These candidates will end up being interviewed by the search committee twice. I'm pretty sure they will have or will be made aware of the issues.

They pretty much still hate him, but their Athletic office was much better after he left than it was when he came in. He is the perfect example of someone who did a great job, but then stayed too long. RC is much like his hero, Elvis in that respect.

I think anyone who has paid attention to college football in recent months is aware of the politics of the BOT. I'm sure they did their research before the interview.
I am most impressed with Ingram, from UT and now at Temple. His background and accomplishments in Athletic Funds Development and background in football and basketball leadership administratively make his the logical choice of the 3 finalists.

#FreeUAB is doing a really poor job if any sentient beings in the world of college athletics don't know what is happening here.
Fagg seems like a cool guy... reminds me a bit of John Neal just from the stuff I've seen from him on Twitter. He worked at Fresno St at the beginning of his career, so he has some perspective at our level, too.
After further information Harris is last on my list.

I will say I am NOT in favor of hiring an AD before the ATF study is complete.
