IT's all over twitter that Jans was fired because his public conduct failed to meet his obligations and expections as a head coach.
I know of the incident that put it over the top and he deserves to lose his job.
In the US we hold our sport coaches to an ethical standard, but not our government leaders.

nor the players at some Power 5 schools.
Incident was at off campus bar and involved inappropriate behavior by Jans.
Incident was recorded on a cell phone video.

Yep I have seen the video and it was a pattern, not an isolated incident.

Don't know what happened but.....

DUDES GONE!!!!!!
I wouldn't throw stones... not too long ago we had a basketball coach that may of had poor judgement.
Not to mention a track coach.
Maybe he can get Gene Cross to help him find a new job, I hope the bar wasn't in Ottawa Hills.
Wow. IMO he was looking like a pretty good coach. What does this do to any incoming BG recruits? I always forget the rule...if there's a coaching change, can they get out of their commitment?

The school has to grant a release and most do. A lot of recruits will let the new coach take a stab at "re-recruiting" them, especially recruits at the MAC level. But if they ask for a release from the letter of intent and are granted it, all of the other MAC schools with scholarships available (like a certain team in NW Ohio) will probably be all over them.

Let's go poaching!
only if they are worth poaching.

So not to risk a recurrence of the WMU fiasco on the boards, but what did he do?

Just saw on Verbal Commits they had signed two 2 guys one was a 6'8" guy maybe look at him other guy was 5' 11" not so sure of I doubt he is better than what we have.
Channel 13 just had a video of someone (looked like Jans) patting a woman on the rump, from what the station showed. Believe it or not a BGSU coed on the same segment thought "he should not have been fired because we had a great season". Oh boy...Libbers will hate to see that.
