It is so hard trying to listen to him before Jack comes on the air. He is such a homer. Only hears and reads with BOT ears and eyes.
He's a homer. All that's needed.
Agreed. Barker is on the side of UA and anything UA related can't be wrong. UAB on the other hand can't do anything right. I hope Williams sets Barker straight, because Williams won't back down to him. Actually proud that Al seemed to be taking on Barker as well.

It is a true clash of ideologies.

The good news is that MANY of the so-called "Walmart UA fans" actually have realized the wrongdoing. The UA fans that think this was appropriate and that UAB doesn't deserve a football team are in the minority. And actually, to Witt's statement the UA fans that hate UAB seem to be the "vocal minority." I used to feel that UA hatred towards UAB was much more widespread. On the contrary, you will run in to many that hate UAB on message boards, al.com, etc. but in the grand scheme of things and on the whole considering all UA fans, those that hate UAB seem to be in the minority.
Flipped over to JOX briefly this morning. Couldn't make it through 5 seconds of Jay's voice.
Can't listen to him.
Jay said why invest in something that is dying? Jack said it should have been invested in long before it started dying. Then Jack gives an analogy of nursing someone who is sick. You try to make the sick person better and not just let them die. Of course Tony thought that was a morbid analogy...lol.

Yeah but Jay is a homer and you shouldn't expect anything else from him.
I can't stand Jay Barker. He only sees what is benevolent to the Tuscaloosa campus. Next weeks Bama/ UAB Baseball game is going to be VERY interesting.

Tell me more about this Fire Ray Watts event.
Aside from all of that Jay is a terrible radio personality and is painful to listen to.

I mean um as far as his ability to um string a sentence together as far as the way he is able to um communicate as far as on the air.

Just as most Bama fans were horrified by Updike's act to kill the "Toomer Oaks", others have crowded in to get their pictures made with him on several occasions. There are more than a few who see their world as either "for the Crimson Tide" or "against it" and it doesn't matter to them whether you are an "Aubie", a Blazer or any other fan - they viscerally hate you. Nearly all, or ALL. of their "talking points" could be applied to the 80% of FBS schools who aren't as wealthy as their program with its almost $200 million annual income only for athletics.

Is that Jay Barker or the President of the United States?

I like Barker as a person but when it comes to sports he's nothing more than a kool-aid drinking NAZI
Jay apparently sees nothing wrong with the system BOT being "ALL Tuscaloosa campus, ALL the time" and acting in Crimson-centric ways. His economic well being probably is dependent upon it since he is a salesman and there are more affluent Crimson customers than any other kind in the Jeffco metro area.

Come on man, don't be that guy. You know, the one who calls people he disagrees with a Nazi.

Which President? Bush or Obama? Don't even attempt to derail this thread with political jabs.

Touche
I've often wondered how he has a show on Sports radio but then again this is Alabama sports radio we're talking about. Jay is very limited on sports knowledge, it’s so funny to listen to him and Al stumble through college and pro basketball. Jay is 100% Bama and will nothing will change that.
