I haven't been on Blazertalk very much lately, so I am not sure if this has been discussed, but there has been a large amount of turnover within the School of Medicine the past 3 months. I have no idea why so many people are leaving. They could have all just gotten better jobs, but it seems strange. Today the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, Hughes Evans, emailed said he was leaving for Emory. I for one, would love to just blame this on Ray Ray, but does anyone have any insight?

There's also been a lot of turnover in Vice President and Dean positions in the past few years. This kind of stuff always happens when the top position changes. People who don't fit in with the new plan or don't like the new leader tend to move on. I wouldn't read too much into it. BTW Hughes Evans is a woman.

I left the SOM almost 2 years ago around the time Watts was moving from dean of the SOM to president. when I was there there were a lot of "changes" as Watts has put his people in leadership. These are not the type of people you want to work for....

BTW, Hughes Evans is actually a woman.
Thanks to both of you for answering. I should have know she was a women since the emailed said "my husband and I." I understand that changes happen, but it just seemed weird with the time frame.
