won more C-USA tournament games than Mike Davis did in 7 years combined.
That is crazy. In all fairness Davis never had the chance to play in Bham.
Davis is 6-0 in the SWAC conference tournament since leaving UAB.
Davis isn't having to play Memphis either. But Memphis ain't what Memphis used to be right now.

I think he was referencing Davis winning the conference tournament two years in a row. Davis always seemed to choke when it came to playing Memphis.
The case could be made either way for both coaches, too. But, I think C-USA is a much more balanced league than it has been in the past as well.

Which is why it will remain a one bid league.
More than one bid will require two things. We need a team good enough to get invited as an at large who loses the conference championship. Unfortunately, the only way that is likely to happen is if the bottom half of the league gets better across the board.
The Memphis teams of Coach Calipary were just as dominant in C-USA as those of UKY under him in the SEC have been. He is proving to be one of the great coaches in the history of his sport. After he leaves UKY, someone may note "The UKY of that day is not what UKY used to be". UCLA has certainly not been the UCLA of the John Wooden era (but the aura remains).
I'd rather hear you talk about Bull Connor and seat licenses than listen to praise for that slimeball on our board. He's a great recruiter. He's a so-so coach.

He also thinks the cheater Bear Bryant was a great person.

Having one team that dominates with a strong RPI also gives other teams a chance to build their resume.
If too many do that they'll no longer have a strong RPI.
