Softball player Heather Pearson commented on the article saying the helmets are not a hoax and will be worn later this season.

They sure were quick to shut that down. Pressing matters like triple votes of no confidence, marches on Montgomery get delayed comments or little to no coverage, but a sticker on a softball helmet creates a firestorm of activity around there. This is a microcosm of some the stupidity going on at UAB

The softball team learned a valuable lesson today. Better to have them see these for the first time when you stand in the batters box.
