Thursday, Feb 19 vs WKU: UAB Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night

Saturday, Feb. 21 vs Marshall: Committed to a Cure Superhero/Youth League Night

Saturday, Feb. 28 vs Middle Tennessee: Fan Appreciation Day
Maybe Ray Ray will show up Thursday night? LOL
Still have my full size Green and White signed UAB basketball that I got when I was a kid.

We need more of those old school give aways/discount concession nights. Not that I could come to the games now, but it couldn't hurt attendance to up the give-aways.

Quarter Hot Dog nights would draw a lot of students. It does for Barons games... although nowhere near as many as Thirsty Thursdays.

Is it also Rhinestone Cowboy night?
Here are a couple of free promotional ideas that doesn't cost anything: these can be done next year as well.

To honor William Lee:

"HaHa" night- have a contest throughout the night where fans tell their best jokes. Have a celebrity judging panel. Winner gets tickets to the next home game.

To honor Nick Norton
"Hoosiers movie night"
Show the movie either before or after the game. Have students wear 50's era or Hoosier movie clothes. Have a granny shot free throw contest at half time.

To honor Tyler Madison
"Presidents night" trivia questions thru out the night about John Tyler and James Madison.

You're welcome

How about a "Norton from 'The Honeymooners' Night" - funny hat &/or vest with baggy pants,
or a Lucille (basket)Ball night with a prize for the most outstanding M&F "redhead"(dyed or natural),
or a celebrity look-alike night - "Lady Ga-Ga" contestants might be interesting,
or a half time talent show based on one of the TV competition shows like "Blazer Idol" or "Blazers got Talent"

Yeah, this board has shown me that today's youth know nothing about jokes. Or Presidents. or good basketball movies.
How about you just give stuff away.

Like it or not...that's what works. All the other stuff is cool, but it's not going to get people in the door (Yeah, yeah, they should be coming for our basketball team and nothing else...but they're not).

There have to be plenty of businesses in Birmingham that would sponsor a night.
We used to have promotional give a ways and people showed up regardless of the team's record or who we were playing. Maybe we should look into that again. It may just turn the causal fan back on again? How many here has a Chanel 42 green and gold scarf? Bobble heads? Trading cards? Ball caps? T-shirts?

How about a proctology exam to the first 50 people sponsored by the Alabama Colon & Rectal Institute?

Be creative!
Free prostate exams for the first 1000 male fans, regardless of age. Brought you by UAB department of urology
Ray Watts urinal targets. May have to print these up my ownself.
