Ohiosportsreport.com has several different stories in the OSU section about who has the best odds at winning the Heisman award. Their RB is at the top. They also have all three of their QBs on that list. Of course there is no mention of the best RB in the nation. ( Hunt ) From what I see some guy in Vegas came up with the list.

It's also been 25 years since a non-power conference player won the award, so in terms of betting on a Heisman winner, it would make sense that a MAC player wouldn't make an odds list or be listed with odds in the hundreds.
Seriously it's Elliot's to lose next year. He ran through three of the best defenses in the country on the way to a national championship with a third string QB at the helm. Hunt is a great RB, but just won't have the opportunity to run against great defenses.
Hunt's only chance is to put up Barry Sanders type numbers.

Quote:Sanders didn't just rewrite the NCAA record book in 1988, he took a flamethrower to it. Sanders set 34 NCAA records that season on his way to capturing the Heisman Trophy. He also rushed for 2,628 yards and 37 touchdowns, while adding two special-teams scores. The NCAA didn't begin including bowl game statistics until 2002, but with 222 yards and five touchdowns in the Holiday Bowl against Wyoming, he totaled 2,850 yards and 44 touchdowns. No player since has come close to touching either mark.

But yeah...these are odds. It doesn't really matter how good he is, it's whether people think he has a shot to actually win it.

I really like Hunt. That kid is a mean cookie. If he stays healthy and gets the carries. We will have a chance to see something special on the turf at The Glass Bowl. And next yr it's bonus football at the Glass Bowl.

Arkansas was #10 in Total Defense and #12 Rushing Defense this past season. They will return most of their front 7 on Defense. That's a great defense.

Unfortunately that's only one team, played early in the season. None of the voters respect MAC defenses. Hunt is a great RB, we know that. Just in the last month of the season, Elliot will have the opportunity to tear up MSU, Michigan and the BIG West division champ. Hunt gets, probably Western, Northern and Eastern and the MAC title game. It's like Chester Taylor in 2001.

We will be watching Hunt play on Sunday afternoons, that's what is important, and scoring a lot of touchdowns for UT.
Hes a stud. But he could lead the nation by 5 tds, and 400 yards and not win the heisman because where plays. Reality.
