Actually, it's really easy to see how he survives the no confidence vote. He is supported by the Board of Trustees and the Chancellor of the System. There's no way he gets fired when he in the pockets of those 16 folks.

I agree. Perhaps that improves our chances of BOT reform.
The fact that the BOT continues to support him makes it easier to reform the BOT.

Meanwhile, if we can't force him to go, we can and will continue to make his life miserable.
I think it's a little early to say the BOT supports him. As somebody said elsewhere, how many times have we seen college administrators say "we fully support coach X"--right before they fire him.
They may continue to support him, but I would have expected statements of support either way
Those on the BOT are naive to think that they can control everything.

Very surprised with the open statements from Witt & Brooks yesterday.

Could come back to bite them.
The Chancellor, the BOT, and Watts are all guilty of fraud(acts of misrepresentation), and double-dealing(the practice of working to people's disadvantage behind their backs). It is going to come back and bite them, alright!

Oh, there's a way. If the BOT wants to take away some of the public scrutiny they are receiving, they will cut him loose.

Good point. The proverbial "vote of confidence".

Time will tell.

Are they naive or realistic? So far, they have controlled everything that matters the most to them. UAB's desired changes are all dependent upon the state legislature making desired changes in the BOT's power monopoly in the UA System. We shall see in March (the beginning of the annual 90 day legislative session) how that effort pays off with positive results.
I think there needs to be an organized and intentional protest of the UA BOT. Certainly fine to do when they convene for meetings but I'm talking about trying to hurt their bottom line. In other words, what are the groups we need to target and avoid in terms of financial support?

We have had stickies in the past about what businesses to support who support UAB. I would like to see this modified and include both those who are loyal to UAB and committed to helping the return of UAB football. Conversely, I want to know those businesses associated with and supporting the UA BoT. For example, I would obviously never think of banking with Bryant Bank. But I'm sure there's more than Bryant Bank that UAB folks can unite in protest against.

Bottom line, I think we should focus our giving towards the UAB Football Foundation, a UAB PAC, and those businesses loyal to UAB. Meanwhile, we should intentionally withhold funds and not do business with those who support or stand behind the BoT.
He's not going to survive it. It's a question of whether the BoT tries to sacrifice him to get themselves off or SACS drags him down first.

Right now, he's as stubborn as he is stupid, pretending to hunker down and stand his ground, posturing as if the no confidence vote was no big deal...He's gonna win us over with his charm and charisma & this sudden attack of inclusion, concern and transparency he's had.

He's the ugliest (bleeping) chameleon I have ever seen! #GTFOWatts
