Gross negligence by Carr Sports by not "boldly" stating in the report that the shutdown of football was likely to result in the loss of Conference USA membership and that the "only" conference in which UAB could be reasonably assured of membership was the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Atlantic Sun has eight members, is a geographic fit, has men's soccer, has no football, and would likely welcome UAB quickly. It represents the ONLY reasonably certain outcome.

Gross negligence by Mr. Watts in not gaining reasonable assurance of membership from a conference "before" the rushed first-year in office shutdown of football and "truthfully" announcing it to all UAB constituents so there is full and timely understanding as to the impact of the decision. Not being delusional. Being sober minded and open to University and City communities about future intercollegiate affiliation and not espousing what most would consider a pipedream. That is, convincing C-USA to ignore by-laws and allow UAB to remain.

In such a decision and in being responsible to duty it was essential for Carr Sports + Mr. Watts to disclose "to all" the worse case scenario, especially when it represents the most likely outcome. Otherwise, gross negligence.
Random passerby : "Hey Bill Carr ! What are you doing next to that burn barrel with that stack of paper and those hard drives ?"
Someone at College Football Insider (@CFBInsider) on Twitter lambasted me for saying that I felt they were just as culpable in the "murder" of UAB Football as the other primaries. Whoever it was told me that they "were just doing their jobs!" Had the nerve to call me, "dude", too...I hate that word!03-pissed
