Interesting read, but a couple of points. Pacific wasn't facing the stigma of not having football in the football-crazed south. They also didn't have the political undertones and worry of puppet leadership that UAB has. I would also add there are real concerns about other issues at UAB outside of football that threaten our autonomy and future (rumors about materials engineering, business school, and honor program just to mention a few). It isn't a matter of whether UAB CAN withstand the loss of football. The question is why should we withstand it?
