Jon Solomon is tweeting this is shortsighted and for a lower tier bowl near Birmingham it would make a great headline for them to give us one more game. I'm there if they do.
I agree. It would make a great story.
Saves Ray Ray from the unpleasantness of declining the invitation.
ESPN seems to be trying to protect something.
Its probably a conflict of interest for ESPN and their SEC Network to allow UAB have a 4 hour national platform to raise hell over this.

You can guarantee Alabama, Bear JR and the BOT are leaning hard on Slive and the SEC offices to tell ESPN don't invite us. See Texas A&M and Texas when the SEC said that ain't happening in the Texas Bowl.

ESPN probably doesn't want UAB to play in the Birmingham Bowl. Could we sell out Legion Field for that Bowl? Have a greater attendance than what Ole Miss had a year or two ago? ESPN and the SEC ain't gonna let that have one chance of happening.
It won't happen, but I would love to see the seniors from one of those 7-win CUSA teams vote to decline their invite out of solidarity.
Our guys are already averaging ~400 yards a game on the ground. How motivated would our boys be in the last game ever ?

& nobody will want to play us.

My pick is western, Brohm and Claude brought some of the guys to the southside, then recruited some uab targets there.
Someone told me that because Watts put an expiration date in his memo for the football team (December 15th if I recall correctly) that no football activity could be conducted after that date. They stated complications with using university resources/ lack of even being insured after the "kill date."

Does anyone who knows more about this have more information on that? It would make me sick if that is true. Adding insult to injury.

So that gives us an expiration date on getting rid of Watts.
What a piece of clinging fecal matter.
Blow up the Birmingham Bowl. I know that a bowl game at Legion Field would be teh suck ordinarily, but imagine 50,000 pissed off UAB fans in LF chanting "Fire Ray Watts" on television. The kids would feel the love and they can't kill it over expenses.
We should push this. My guess is Legion Field just got killed with us. Why not one more game there? It gives the mayor and council one more chance to give Watts the finger. I would love a chance to do one more football tailgate. Plus it would be a great send off for our team and Legion Field.
