I've been going through the threads and trying to get information. Is there any answers to the calls and emails? Is there any hope on the horizon? Is there a way to turn this around (not just wanting to, but actual results)? Surely there is someone on here that knows something, right?
I am still waiting on a reply to what I sent yesterday when I got that letter from Watts' office:

"Mr. Watts:

You are not a member of the UAB family; do not pretend that you care about those of us that are. I am not surprised that you came to this shameful, foolish decision. I have known for a long time that you are not a supporter of UAB Sports. You do not even know the damage you are about to cause. Remember what happened at ETSU. They dumped football, then dumped the university president, got a new president, and restarted football. Keep that in mind since you have destroyed your legacy. The Campaign for UAB will take a terrible hit. You have set back the Athletics program 20 years. That is the definition “fiscally irresponsible”; doing this kind of intentional damage will result in loss of donors. But that is part of the goal, correct?

You join a shameful club today, you are one of the very few people to kill a Division 1 football program and drop the Athletics program out of Division 1 at the same time. “Exciting times for UAB Athletics” means dropping out of Division 1 athletics?

I know that this is beating a dead horse; you do not care. You could have been the hero we needed; instead you are just a shameless, heartless bean counter. The worst thing I can call you is a man without honor. A real man with honor would do the honorable thing and resign or retire this week. You are tainted and no one can trust your word.

I will give you credit – Brian Mackin was no loss to UAB."

Quite blaming the bean counters and we'll be golden 04-cheers

In all seriousness, there's no way a qualified financial advisor was involved in this study and its subsequent/predetermined effects. The numbers simply don't add up even using overly cautious assumptions. This was a hatchet job by one man at the behest of a small cadres of asshats who get off every night to a picture of a man in a houndstooth hat (my apologies for the graphic imagery).

Time to make tWatts a persona non grata in the 'ham. Make him leave of his own volition so we don't have to wait for a board to do nothing.

Right now, we fight. We maintain pressure on all fronts: traditional media, street protest, social media, backdoor politics. This is not going to be easy. Results will probably come slowly, then if they do, all at once.
No problem, I agree 100%.

This is the ONLY chance we have to save the program, the university, and the city.

This. If you're a student, get out in the street in front of Admin. If you're not, call in sick and get out in the street in front of Admin.
