I'm seeing a lot of tweets from media members nationally that are questioning the true motives behind the decision. Media members providing facts on our true situation with things like subsidies.

Bowmani Jones just had the latest series and he is appalled at the behavior by the board to systematically hinder our program.

Darren Rovell just tweeted out that there are 33 programs subsidized at a higher rate.

Wolken last night tweeted that 90% of people he reached out to believe our decision will be an outlier and not the start of more programs cutting

@bomani_jones: but, if you’re unaware, uab has long been on the business end of amazing hateration and holleration from the board. http://t.co/

@bomani_jones: ok, just got up to speed on more of this uab-bama trustees history. this is some real machiavellian stuff.

@DanWolken: I texted a bunch of people in college athletics before I wrote that piece asking if they thought UAB was outlier or trend. 90% said outlier.
Unfortunately, like most things, the national news cycle will move on to the next outrage. Everyone did a good job of getting this known nationally, but exposure is the end of it. Getting Action is harder than getting exposure
Yes. It is over.
It'll blow over like MB said. I fully support anyone who wants to lawyer up. However, lawyers cost money and in this economy not much of us have that. We're either going to need to have a reporter dig up some skeletons or a donor/business person with money get legal on their butts.
After Thursday no more butts in seats or money of any sort until we are free.
If you don't think Haas is looking for a way out you are nuts.
We need to lobby to stay in C-USA for when we get football back if it's one month or five to ten years. I want no part of the current Sun Belt but it may be the best of what we can get. A-10 or MVC is pipe dream.
That's my biggest reason for wanting to stay in CUSA. It will give us that option.
