I think it means that the numbers he ran shows there was a 20 minute delay in the report being released after the end of his presser - shows that the report was a sham and something easy for him to hide behind without having to defend the report. Had they released the report earlier the media would have seen what nonsense it is and could have pressed watts on it. That's the way I read it.
You can look up numbers to support UAB football in 20 minutes.
The most damning numbers I saw in the Carr Report are those showing that with additional investment in UAB football, football revenues will flatline on a 2013 basis (that is, pre-Clark, pre 130% increase etc.). I guess they assumed Ray Watts would take personal charge and run the football program as he did the medical school.
A subtle, but useful, article. The real issue here is not that they always intended to shut down football -- that's obvious -- but that they lied about their intentions. It is, as Walter Scott puts it, "a tangled web...".

You know what…. if that weren't the truth, it would be hilarious.

UAB has to get rid of this guy.

It also lists the mentions indoor practice facility as an expense when the foundation and the city offered to pay for it.

I found it particularly telling that they would ask the coaches what they needed to complete successfully and then used their responses against them?

Q: What do you need to be successful in CUSA?
A: Well, we have nothing, so everything.
Conclusion: We cannot afford to football.

Carr and Associates is a joke.

They promoted a guy who had run the med school from a top twenty ranking to down in the mid-fortys and made him President of the University.

Why would you do that? It does not make any sense. Not unless there was anothr reason to promote him, anyway.

I'm not laughing. But you raise a great point:

Carr and Associates made themselves a combatant in this battle. They were not dispassionate analysts; they were given an agenda and carried it out. They are now a legitimate target. We should work to expose their role in this chicanery and thereby hopefully destroy their ability to wreak devastation on other student-athletes.

There must never again be a repeat of what we witnessed yesterday. Carr and Associates helped enable the evil acts of Ray Watts.
Did you notice how Watts referred to Carr and Associates as the experts? What a bunch of malarkey!

BOT to Watts: Take this job to destroy UAB or you're fired for running the medical school into the ground...

This.
The indoor practice field is still needed without football. It was even referenced as a multi-sport practice facility.

Care and Associates is not an independent consulting firm. They are mercenaries.
One of my concerns when I found out the study started over a year ago was that they had a complete data set from McGee's years but not one from Clark's season. They compared Clark's laundry list of needed improvements to the revenue stream from McGee attendance and donor support. Worst possible income vs. expenses numbers.

Which sport gets to take over the football practice fields and break ankles and blow out their knees?
