I went to the Rally last night. I understand it was organized in two hours amazing. What are the plans tomorrow 9am Admin Building. Meeting at 6pm tomorrow?
I suggest meetings only last 45 minutes. #freeuab in the morning at 7:50am and 6pm every night. What are we doing Wednesday? Thursday basketball game. Do we meet at the Green and walk to Bartow to make a statement. Need 5,000 at the game. Friday? Saturday?
I have to be at work everyday at 7am. If you can't rally you can Tweet.
It's all about the B and the C. Birmingham and Coach Clark
This kind of suggestion would be quite useful over on the Save UAB Football page on Facebook...
I think things have been organized pretty well, honestly...especially considering the organic nature of everything. The #FreeUAB stuff REALLY lost its steam last time because it stopped being organic and started being a forced organized effort. This is a bunch of pissed off students and fans that are organizing themselves and everybody holds a piece of the ownership.

But yes...a lot of it has been grassroots, word of mouth and social media. There's another march to the Admin building tomorrow morning at 8:30am starting at the Green and then protesting outside of the Admin building at 9am.
I would love to see the students march to Bartow for the basketball game Thursday night. That would be an amazing sight and would also show support for other sports on campus as well. FILL UP BARTOW
This is finally the Grass Roots movement we have been looking for instead of the "manufactured" although well-meant "grass roots" movement we have had in the past. the student body is finally coming to the realization of the gravity of the situation....in the common parlance: "sh!t just got real"

Beats me,, but I want to see a crowd there, with their butts in the seats cheering for the Blazers on the court,, AND, carrying their signs supporting UAB football too!.. Now that makes a Statement!
Trying to buy tickets, but it isn't working. Will have to call in the AM.

Not a chance in hell that Brian Mackin is at the game on Thursday.

Something tells me that Brian will not be at the game on Thursday.

I suspect you're right, but if somehow he actually does an on-court grip-and-grin that's not the time to boo him. That poor Sadexo dude and his kid at the Jackson State game had nothing to do with Brian's cowardice and didn't deserve that even if it was just one guy.

Now the Campaign for UAB ad on the jumbotron, there's a fine spot for a Not One Dime chant.
I would take it easy on Mackin right now.
We have other areas where we should focus.
Without truly knowing what went on, we cannot determine the extent of his involvement or lack thereof.

I've noticed that the CFUAB commercials has taken a more medical view the last few runs I've seen whereas before it was more open to all parts of UAB/Bham
I think today was organized really well. All we really need is a louder megaphone and a box or something people can stand on when they're talking. The food and water were a great idea and well executed.
Be at the green at 8:30 in the morning and we'll do it again.

I most definitely can. It ranges from compliant to non-existent. No part of that spectrum is acceptable.
If McGee knew the shutdown was coming when he left, so did Brian Mackin. He could have fought it openly. He could have gotten word quietly to UAB loyalists, warning of the danger so we could prepare. He could have spoken up for the program after the threat was exposed. On the way out the door, he could have spilled what he knows from ten years as AD, from the time Watson was run off, through Sullivan, Fisher, and Callaway, the OCS, and the current attempt to shut us down.

He did not say a word. He did nothing to help us or warn us.

He may not be involved as in pulling the trigger, but he never let out a peep when he knew what was going on.

He's gone, with his hush money. I'm fine with that.

*edit* It occurs to me that I forgot to mention the screw job he put on Bill Clark when he was hired. That's a big black mark.

I agree. He's a Mountain Brookie so he needs the payoff money not... If he was a true Blazer, and had any integrity, he would have told them to keep their hush money and spoke out on the injustice.
