So, with one game left to be played, we have four more bowl eligible teams than there are slots. Our chances to go bowling are practically non-existent in that scenario, I would wager, especially since C-USA has three more bowl eligible teams than it has tie-ins.
Agreed.

Who is going to invite a team who's very existence in 2015 is in question?

Sad days.
Doesn't matter what may happen in the future. Only have to worry about the present.
I think our attendance numbers are going to help us out if we do get a bowl invite. That being said, I'm not holding my breath but am d@mn proud of this team. If any team deserves a break, this one does.
Would we get in ahead of Sun Belt or MAC teams that have attained eligibility but lack the conference tie ins for all eligible teams. ?
I say we have a shot still. Are we better than MTSU ? I say yes.
If you're CUSA and you're about to lose one of your bigger markets and have your schedule jacked up for next year it might make sense to give us an invite. I'm sure the conference is none to pleased right now with our administration and making them either decline the invite (which will come out one way or another) or put them in the situation of sending a team which will not exist next year (assuming a negative decision) puts Watts in squarely in the national spotlight.
One major worry is, would Mackin go to bat for is to get an invite?

IA, that CUSA will probably do everything possible to make sure UAB gets invited somewhere
New Orleans Bowl should invite a CUSA team in place of American conference. It will be between us and MTSU. They beat us so most will project them, but we really outdrew them. Will be interesting.
Palm just released his. We're left out.

Remember when we beat TCU, finished 1 game ahead of them in CUSA, and had the same record? Yeah, TCU got an invite over us. Our fan support might see us through for once!

Palm's are just a guess and he makes a few errors by not paying attention.

For example he has Big Ten teams in both the Citrus and the Taxslayer bowls. One of these has to be an ACC team. They are shared between those two conferences one bowl gets one conference and one gets the other. He also has Ohio in the Armed Forces both when C-USA has a secondary contract. I haven't heard that the MAC does.
ODU can't get in. Their provisional status rules them out.

i wouldn't follow anything that guy says, he probably just went by the conference standings

I wasn't referring to Palm but to the original poster. We are close.
ArmedForces is another possible landing spot

Gotcha. Hopefully we'll sneak into one.
Yep. Armed Forces opens up if Oklahoma wins vs OSU next weekend. That would be a sixth spot for 7 eligible teams, with the final spot between UAB and MT.
