I think it is about 50/50 at this point. I think the WMU is definitely the better team, but NIU will be playing for a chance at a MACC and WMU will not, so they may have a bit of a let down, particularly coming off their big rivalry game with Central.

Although NIU has stumbled a few times in the MACC game they have consistently "won the games that count" to win the West for quite a while now, so they definitely know how to get there and WMU is still learning.

It is always dangerous to be in a position where you need help from other teams to get where you want to be because once you lose control of your own destiny, nothing is ever guaranteed. Still, 50/50 is the best chance UT has had for getting to the MACC game in a long, long given their annual loss to NIU. I never like the idea of slipping in thru the back door, but it they make it, I will certainly take it.
lolllllll. More confident in WMU beating NIU than doing it yourself, coach?

WMU will possibly be playing for the MAC title game also. If WMU beats CMU and NIU and UT loses to EMU, the Broncos go to the MAC Championship Game, so they will have something to play for also.

Of course, it is very unlikely that UT loses to EMU, but the NIU-WMU game is before the UT-EMU game, so WMU will have something to play for against the Huskies, as long as they beat CMU

Having to rely on EMU to beat anyone at football, let alone a good team, is not something you really want to have to depend on. Doesn't look good for WMU.

The clip of the team singing "U Of Toledo" needs to be played on the video screen at Savage Arena at big moments/situations during basketball games!!!!!!!! I believe it would be a huge boost to Rocket crowd.

The Emotion, Power, Excitement & Joy expressed in that clip and how the song is meant to be sung, greatly surpasses any rendition the pep band can try to play. (this is not meant to be dig at the band)

We beat CMU and you didnt, so it happens to all teams. I actually think WMU at home is going to be very tough for NIU.
As a Rocket fan for many years the last few years November hasn't produced alot of big wins and some very big loses. I think UT will beat EMU, but remembering recent November games against teams we should beat puts me on edge. If we beat EMU easily if nothing else we should be in for a nice bowl game for ourselves. Relying on other teams NIUvs WMU or a bowl commitee like last year to pick your fate isn't the best plan and won't insure much success

Definitely! UT and NIU have already played this year, so I know for a fact that chance is zero, whereas I think WMU has about a 50% chance of winning....and (drum roll): 50%>0%

P.S.: I typed this very slowly, just for you. 03-wink

Although it is theoretically possible for UT to lose to Eastern this year, if they close another season with another Akron-like sleep walking performance against Eastern, remind me to cancel my season tickets for next year.

Either way, whether we win or lose at Eastern, Western Michigan is playing for a co-championship of the West division. WMU doesn't have any bowl victories to speak of and no conference championships since 1988 so they sure as heck are gonna post a 2014 West champs banner of some sort outside their stadium's press tower if that does take place.
I actually pretty much expect a ut bg rematch in a few weeks. I feel like there's a 25 pct chance ut loses to emu and a 25 pct. Chance WMU loses to niu. I actually feel like it's more likely for ut to pull an akron 2013 type loss against emu than niu beating WMU

I personally think wmu will kick the**** out of niu. I went to our game at Waldo and the broncos look to me that they are a lot better than the pups
I definitely think WMU is better than NIU, but they have their rivalry game this weekend against CMU in Mt. Pleasant. I just hope they do not come out of that game banged up. Even if they lose and supposedly have nothing to play for, as long as they have their No 1 QB and that freshman running back, they will likely be favored to beat NIU. Weather tomorrow should not be too bad for a game in Mt. Pleasant. BTW 7 degrees this morning up here while driving into work. I don't know if I can take another winter like last year.
