Hey guys, we've got a crowd of seven coming, and while we certainly don't mind paying, I wanted to know if anyone has any ticket packages that maybe we can buy in bulk? Or if they know anyone who simply can't make it and would like to give them away? A few of us are alum, but I'm dragging one or two of my co-hosts too so they can see just how supportive we are.

Either way, just let me know, we've got all week and like I said if we gotta pay, we gotta pay, but we'll be there.

^ You should buy them through the ticket office for a number of reasons.
There's normally a few extras floating around the tailgate but not sure there'll be that many to cover you. If you stop by the BT tailgate on the north side of the stadium we might be able to hook you up gameday. Otherwise you can get at the ticket office prior or gameday at the ticket office on the south side of the stadium plus the scalper types selling their free tickets for $
Regardless of tickets, stop by the tailgate area by Blazer Village during pre-game!
Yes, you are welcome if we have any left.
You guys should do a gameday remote broadcast from the tailgate area. There is no better time for a remote from a UAB Football game than now. Your co-hosts would be able to experience the gameday atmosphere for themselves, and you could get UAB fans on a real mic and headphones rather than a cell phone. I bet you could swing some press passes to the game out of it too.

Out of my jurisdiction, but worth a shot. I'll talk to the PD.
I'm an out-of-state Obamacare-using graduate student. If someone you know can't afford to buy a ticket, I will call the ticket office and buy a ticket or two if you can show me that you went there and used those tickets.

I have 2 that admits 4 each, so I believe that covers 8. hit me and I will see about getting them to you.
For sure there are passes for four going out to the faculty and staff, with a very gracious letter from Coach Clark attached. There are also the usual promotional passes paid for by sponsors, and there are a large number of passes going out to the elementary schools. It should help getting butts in seats.

The front side of the pass has a picture of Clark with a UAB football and the ticket is below. The message on the back side of the picture reads:

Dear UAB Faculty and Staff,

I would like to personally invite you to our last home game of the 2014 season as we celebrate UAB Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. As I have said since arriving at UAB, one of the things we emphasize is about being a family and we want that to extend to the entire UAB community. Your support is so important to the success of the program, and we need each and every one of you on Saturday, November 22 as we take on Marshall at 11 a.m. They are undefeated this season and we need you in the stands.

Share this special day as we recognize our 18 seniors whose leadership and character have helped define UAB's football family. These senior Blazers will play in their final home game at Legion Field. They have made us proud to wear the green and gold.

We encourage you and your family to join us using the ticket at the bottom, which will admit up to four people.

See you Saturday, and Go Blazers!

Coach Bill Clark

I think it would be hard for me to like this man much more than I do.

Mine and my fiancee's are paid for, that's not the issue. There are two or four in particular we're trying to convince to come that having a pair of tickets in hand would help.
We'll have tickets to cover several. I have a pass for four, and there will be others I'm sure.
I will have some extras at the tailgate

If your cohost are able to get free tickets, they'll have fun with it on the air.
I can cover them. Someone is dropping some more off with me. Someone did pay for them so they were not free but they are free to you. ;-)
Does one actually believe that our administration would do anything right now to pump up attendance figures like giving out free tickets?
Why would you give out free tickets if you are trying to perpetuate poor attendance? Come on. ;-)

Announced attendance this weekend: 8,500. But it will look a lot like 30k.

There are three different kinds going out. You bother to read page one?

All of those "four get in free" coupons have to be paid for. Sponsors like Buffalo Rock have been doing it all season. I don't know who is paying for the ones to the faculty and staff, whether it was the school as part of part of staff appreciation or Clark himself. There's a big batch going to the schools too, don't know who footed that bill.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "our administration". You do understand that's a rather large number of people, yes?
Could it be then that the lowered attendance reporting is due to all of these coupons being used?

And for the record, I normally read the new posts from bottom up since my browser sometimes cuts off the last post, therefore I missed your previous post.

Apologies.
