Personal reasons.
Wow. That's unfortunate. Some stability on this staff would be nice. Not saying there's a specific problem and I'm sure Stacey has his reasons but it'd be nice to have more than 1 assistant who wants to be here for more than a season.
That guy's a mess.
Hope he has a good reason and didn't do something stupid but my guess is he did something stupid.
LOL. Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin', too.

Also I didn't realize Nick Dials had been out of OSU 10 years already!!
This is why you never trust BG grads.
Nick may end up a better hire in the long run. I'm sure he knows and understands hard work. Probably a better fit with Coach K.
So no possibility whatsoever that it could be a family or medical issue I guess? 03-zzz

Yeah, don't you hate it when two guys on a sports message board speculate in very general terms about the cause of an event? You'd never see that over on AZZ.

This is not a permanent hire. He was hired for the remainder of the year.
Is he the son of Dave Dials? That name sounds familiar, but I thought he played at EMU

I do not think he is Dave's son he started out his career at OSU and finished up at Akron. Also just because he is only through the end of the season now does not mean he will not get the job long term. This would be an audition for him.

EMU guy was Derrick Dials I think.

EMU guy was Derrick Dials I think.

You are correct. Derrick Dials was the 3 point specialist who played with Point Guard Extraordinare Earl Boykins back in the 90s.
The guy has left three programs in a lurch within the year hasn't he? I certainly hope it's not for family or health but the alternative would be he's an A-1 butt-hole.

Dials was a dead-eye from Williard. Heck of a player.
derrick dials from emu played in the nba a little. that great emu team had 3 guys on it who played in the league - boykins, head and dials
Derrick Dials was probably not related to Dave Diles (different spelling and ethnicity) who used to do the college scoreboard before ESPN came along and was somehow connected to OSU basketball. I think he later on in life became an athletic director at EMU. Memory is not what it used to be.

Also means Nick Dials is not related since that spelling is different as well.

Guess I got this sidetracked to play my version of trivial trivia pursuit...
