With Respect to the Conference. Are They concearned about this. Just a question. Just asking who has authority. The State, City. Foundations. or just the Bot. Who does the BOT answer too at the end of the day.. They have to answer to some kind of intity.

Excellent (bleeping)question! Where is the Commissioner of Conference USA , Brittany Banikowski (?), on this? Is there a way to reach out to him to find out if he's even monitoring the situation? I sure as hell would like to get his take on this and find out where he stands, too!
BB is probably lining up another Texas Sunbelt team just in case & probably sides more w/ UAT BOT just so he can do just that

You really think that? Now that you mention it, it's kind of strange that he's not been mentioned until now regarding this, you sure it's a Texas SB team and not a certain school about 2 hours south of us that wears red & whose mascot is a condom? (just kidding, Troy fans, just kidding!)...
If they were going to take an Alabama school, they would take South Alabama.

Which is exactly why Southern Miss should be pushing the conference big time to give public support to UAB.

And I figured he was just lining up another putt.

What is the "this" they would comment on? Until there is some definite statement from UAB, what kind of statement would CUSA make?

I think the BOT was set up as it was in the Alabama Constitution. Alabama's citizens could change this by amendment and obviously the legislature has the pursestrings so they have much leverage. As I understand it, our State Constitution cannot be changed by a simple legislative majority, but there's more about this I don't know than there is that I do know.
Now he no longer has to worry about our fans protesting a move to the West. 05-stirthepot

I'm pretty sure he already has Texas State is his back pocket. LOL

Maybe UAH should start a football team... 05-stirthepot

No, Samford or Jax State should move to D1A as soon as the plug is pulled. 05-stirthepot
JSU has been begging the Sun Belt for five years and are slowly improving facilities. On the drawing board is new baseball and softball stadiums along with a complete renovation of the Pete. Stadium is already done.

Why USA & not Troy? Doesn't Troy have better facilities for now, than South Alabama?

Because USA has a world of potential ahead, Troy reached it's peak several years ago.
IF UAB drops FB, and the C-USA wants to fill its spot with another Alabama team, I believe it would be USA because of the growth in the Mobile area and the state's support of the growth of the school and its city's metro area. USA already has its own medical school (which it doesn't have to "share" with another school), its own pharmacy school - and for football - it will probably soon have its own new facilities - perhaps its own OCS by the end of this decade.

I think Texas State is about comparable to Troy in its appeal to C-USA. And no one in Mobile has to worry what the BOT in Tuscaloosa thinks or likes.
USA would also be an instant rival for USM if it ever came down to a choice.

That may be in part, why there's been little or no rumbles or no hurry on anyone in position to do so about reforming that garbage document in recent years, which has some of the stupidest laws on record you can imagine. It only serves to give and secure power and influence on those who have little or none in this state, like Birmingham.
