The public hits keep on coming for the BOT. Definitely a positive to see the City of Bham and Jefferson County publicly state their support.
Maybe it was all a part of the plan...BOT float an evil rumor to force the city to come out of the woodworks. Brilliant and supportive plan
I'm glad the Senior Games were mentioned in that article. The city is feverishly attempting to position itself as a sporting destination. Committing to first-class facilities (yes, I'm talking about the OCS too) would send a strong, positive message to organizations the mayor is currently courting... organizations like those who conduct the World Games, perhaps?

I'm not sure if that is an angle worth exploring but if it is, I hope the Foundation is hyping the hell out of it.
All its takes is 10 mill? The frat houses cost more then that, cant remember the waterfall price.
I think $15 million was appropriated for the frat houses in Tuscaloosa, but I may be wrong.

Certainly isn't less than $15 million.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Watts, Bryant, and Fess.

The UA has to build what it needs to train the future politicians of Alabama on how to handle the people with whom you wouldn't associate otherwise.
Shows the support is there. What School would turn away this type of investment?

03-lmfao What he said!
I'm excited for the Senior Games now. The shuffleboard should be riveting.

Great job Football Foundation. This just makes things look worse for any detractors.

What's so aggravating is that some of these scumbags went on record saying that if proof of support is shown, then they'd sign off on some projects for the program and get behind the OCS, which they had a sincere (bleeping) chance to do in November of 2011 (is this their normal strategy now, to lower the boom on our football program on Novembers now?) the support is there plain and sure, and they still want to kill the program. I wouldn't trust them telling me p*** is wet, especially after all they've done and tried to do!

because they're evil ******* with power that like to throw their political weight around and wave their crimson & white agendas and loyalties in your face. Plain and simple, they do not want UAB Football to have any progressive or positive momentum or success.
Something fishy with the timing of these stories.

Or one is a reaction to the other. 1. Birmingham Football Foundation is announced last week. 2. BOT freaks out and tries to shut down the program before this pesky resurgence we're having really gets out of hand.

...Or first, rumblings of a new BOT plot are detected, then the BFF is created in response, then the BOT freaks out and accelerates their efforts, the BFF and city offer this initiative as return fire, and here we are.

...but in the beginning did it all spark from a good coach asking (agitating), "Hey, I really need that practice facility I was promised!"
That was being worked on. It's more that the BOT's plot was detected and so forth from there...
