How long until the coaches let O'Leary stop running sprints for spiking the ball in Clements' face? My money is on 10:45am Central time next Saturday.
That was the dumbest penalty I've seen in a while.

I was kind of torn. A) He did, clearly, spike the ball in the face of his own teammate, but B) it was hella stupid. I would have thrown the flag just for the stupid. I may have even announced "extreme stupidity" as the penalty.
We also had the stupid taunting penalty on JJ's reverse play in the first quarter. I don't know what got into them yesterday.
He's fortunate he's not playing at FSU under Fisher with Jameis Winston as his QB. He would have been kicked off the team - immediately after the play, expelled from school, and the NCAA would have put his family on probation.

I noticed a lot of that during the game and I think FAU goaded us into it. I wouldn't say that if their program didn't have a well known history for exactly that...
That was the most ridiculous unsportsmanlike conduct penalty I can remember. Granted, our guy lost his cool for a second. He shouldn't have thrown the ball down. But he was mad at HIS OWN TEAMMATE. The umpire didn't use good judgment or common sense. I was actually thinking that the referee might overrule the umpire and wave off the penalty. No such luck. Also, judging by the umpire's reaction and how he threw the penalty flag a mile high, I think he overreacted just as emotionally as our guy did who threw the ball down.
