I've been in Birmingham since late Wednesday night and I've been listening to the local sports talk radio station and I now understand the frustration of UAB fans. These guys have talked more about out of state SEC teams than UAB or The Magic City Classic. How not discuss the team and event that's local to where you are? Seems like bham needs more than one sports talk station.
And they're not even very good at discussing those things either.

Its been Auburn/South Carolina, Alabama/Tennessee and right now they're talking about Jameis Winston and Auburn basketball with Charles Barkley03-banghead
This is why I stopped listening long ago. I only catch podcasts when we have a guest on that is UAB related. If it were not for the weekly Clark deal which is TIED TO US ADVERTISING WITH THEM it would be hardly ever. Don't let them fool you.

There have been other sports talk radio stations at times. It really makes no difference. They just want to appease the masses, and masses of Alabama just care about UAT football and Auburn football - period. Such is life in Alabama.
Ranks right below the Mexican station on my list of preferences.

The Latino population of Birmingham is made up of more than those of Mexican descent

Well if you listened to the Opening Drive, you're definitely not going to get UAB or Magic City Classic talk. I think they did have Coach Clark on this week but I'm sure the conversation was more about Arkansas than UAB.

Dunnaway and Brown will not talk about UAB either but I wouldn't be surprise if they are talking about the MCC today if not but for a few minutes.

Frankly, if you want to talk about UAB or the MCC you should tune in Saturday morning at 8 am for the Jack's Countdown to Kickoff. That crew will talk about anything.
We'll all look back one day and they'll regret not covering us
I will sau they talked about the MCC yesterday but that was only because Gene Hallman (sp?) is over it and he came on to pub it. Even still, they found some way to work the ironbowl and ua/au in the conversation.

Is that the afternoon show?
With all the story lines with UAB/Arkansas I definitely expected to hear more UAB talk. McGee leaving Army for UAB and Humphrey returning back to Fayetteville is should've gotten the talking heads talking.

Oh! I was like when was McGee at Army? lol
Coach Clark makes a weekly appearance on the Opening Drive each Thursday. The fact many of our regular posters on here don't know that is pretty sad considering UABsports.com, all UAB twitter accounts, and even people on this board promote it weekly.
One might think it is sad not for us, but sad for the Opening Drive.
The only thing they want to cover UAB sports with is dirt.
