When he retires, he needs to be replaced by a UTMC physician, not one from Promedica.

Is that the former Medical College of Ohio?
Pretty impressive career.
Totally disagree with DetroitRocket...Dr. Kruse has been a tremendous asset to the UT Athletic Department. From his individual care for our athletes to his presepting and teaching of our students and medical students he has put UT on the cutting edge of care. UT needs the best of medical and surgical teams for it's athletes period. The best of the various disciplines of medicine do not reside in every medical institution. Our athletes deserve the best care no matter where their affiliation. Dr. Kruse is by far the best in our area.
So when will Hunt be at 100%? Kind of left that out and what he is doing to ensure that occurs. Getting to 100% is subjective anyway..

I said nothing negative about Dr. Kruse. I said when he RETIRES a UTMC physician should take his place. I guess when he does retire we had better shut down UTMC because they have no competent doctors. Maybe we could ask the University of Michigan to take care of our athletes.

Do you know that UT battles the Promedica System every day for its share of the local medical dollar? Do you know that Promedica pulled out of the UTMC simulation center project and left UTMC to pay $18 million extra for the project? Kruse touts the Promedica System in commercials and print ads while he takes money from UT to treat our athletes. Do you see a disconnect?
Detroit, I was wrong to imply that you questioned Dr. Kruses' credentials. But the reality in this medical market is that since the 1980's most all of the sports medicine fellows have trained in the Promedica system. So his likely replacement will come from there. I do agree with your sentiment in regard to Promedica in that they appear to be an organization that"does not play well with others. "

When I had an injury, not knowing where to go I called a local minor league sports and was referred to a doctor at MCO. Worked great for me. On another occasion, I went to Cleveland Clinic for a second and they stated word for word what I got from my first opinion at UTMC.

Even if the private firm does have by some accounts the "best," isn't in best interests in such a growing field to use and grow UTMC programs?

When ebola takes MY nose, I'm having it reattached at UTMC!
