Best dunk I ever saw! Still gives me goose bumps!!!
One of my favorite moments in Savage.
It has been tough to watch the football team this year. I would be lying if my mind hasn't drifted to thoughts of basketball much earlier than normal.
huh? Football team is rarely undefeated with everyone else in the division with a loss.... I'd say its the perfect year for two MAC Championships! Basketball may even be tougher because WMU returns a their best player IMO.
whittington was a big loss, i'm concerned w how we guard tava this yr. he gave us fits last season.

And David Brown is one of those players who can take a game over. The game we won in Savage he wasn't as strong. Should be some interesting battles between us and Western!
hopefully with more ball pressure and experienced Bigs (one a freshmen and the other a sophmore last year) our defense will be better. Even though JD is a low post slasher on Offense, he is a liability on defense other than a blocked shot from the weak side help.

Pure shooter. Wouldn't wuit throwing up bad shots in the second half because he knows he can make them. Catch him on a night like that and they're very beatable. When he's making those shots-look out.

Anyone know what kind of defender Applewhite is? Not sure we have anyone else as strong and quick as Tava, although Lauf (who is listed as 190 on the roster?) may be the logical choice. Weatherspoon got better but seemed lost a lot last year on D.
BTW, I think my fave was Ty Kent's freshman slam over a BG guy because it was an awesome slam AND it was over a BG guy. My favorite BLOCKED SHOT however....

^Ah yes, that one was pretty great. The game clock was winding down and we had the game pretty much won, so he pretty much just said I'm gonna take this to the hole and not gonna let anybody stop me. And of course, nobody did, and it brought down the house.

It was pretty sweet.

Could that in any way be related to a game played against Cincinnati in Cleveland a few years back---say 2000---just before New Years involving a certain Kenny Satterfield?

I was actually at that game. UT won the game but of course three months later it was business as usual with the Bearcats going to the NCAA Tourney and the Rockets not.
I used to always like the Ron Harper Show when he came to town

I wonder how many people that night became diehard Rocket fans after that victory. I was an 18 yr old freshman going to his first college basketball game. I grew up a diehard Buckeye fan but I loved rooting for underdogs. There was no hesitation that I was rooting for the Rockets that night. With the atmosphere, passion, and victory, I vowed to convert to a full time Rocket from that point on. I haven't looked back...
1+ Rocket Man...even Harvey's dunks included (and there were some amazing ones for sure) that was an all time great.01-ncaabbs
