15-20 years of wins, bowls, conference championships, and hanging with and often beating the "big boys" gained them many loyal due hards. I'd like to see UAB get to that level of success and gain a larger fan base.

Almost all US cities with high Hispanic populations have low crime, especially violent crime (San Jose, El Paso, San Diego, San Antonio, etc.)

Why do anything bad in El Paso when Juarez is only 100 yards away.
There is only 20,000 between the top team and the bottom team and UAB is only 8,000 off the top. Considering the local metro area climate toward UAB football, I consider that a number open to substantial improvement with a new positive (winning) record regardless of playing venue. I could easily see UAB being the top average attendance team in a couple of years -- with an even higher number than UTEP has now.
