Sad to hear. He was on those teams with Cedric Dixon, Fred Williams and Willie Mitchell. Good player.

Condolences to his family.
Sad...he's always been one of my favorite Blazers
I found this previous thread about him and his team.

First year assistant coach Larry Finch
There was an assistant to Coach Bartow who was known as the shot doctor.
I think he passed away several years ago.

Can't exactly remember his name but he was involved with Coach Bartow's basketball camps.
Might be a good idea to designate the game against Illinois State as the Bartow Classic, with proceeds going toward cancer. It would be nice to honor Jackson during that game with his teammate Torrey Ward in the house on the Illinois State bench.

Bartow's assistants were:

Lee Hunt
Larry Finch
Oscar Catlin
Robert Corn
John Prince
Mike Hanks
Murry Bartow
I want to say the shot doctor's name was Andrew Young, but I know that probably isn't correct.

He may have just been a friend of Bartow who helped out at the camps.
Found a thread about the Shot Doctor.

Gorilla discussed him here in these posts:

I had a couple of classes with AJ. He was a great all around guy. He was an elementary education major. We kidded him about about scaring the crap out of little kids because he was really tall. He was a great person and will be sorely missed.
RIP Antonio.

I remember his performance against Houston, where UAB absolutely destroyed the Cougars 116-78 in 98-99, with I believe Coach Clyde Drexler on the Houston bench.

Good player, Good man. My condolences to his family.
