$1M from Medical Properties Trust. Getting a nice, new School of Business would be big for UAB.

From the rendering it looks like the building will go where the Ullman parking lot is now.
Does engineering get the other half of the BEC?
I believe that's the plan. I think engineering is hoping to be able to conduct more research when they're able to expand their space with the other half of the BEC.

That is a change in location from the orignal plan that had the facility anchoring the northward expansion of campus.

I's going to lead to a huge headache in regards to basketball game parking, unless another deck is built in close proximity.
Previous plans have them demolishing the old steam plant building on the north side of Bartow (adjacent to the new steam plant) for a surface parking lot.

The other half will be used to teach engineers people skills.

That's a lost cause.07-coffee3
As far as location goes, it only says corner of 13th and University. That could be the current parking lot, or diagonally across the street where the old Mini Park currently is. On the last master plan there are plans for building at both locations. They may choose to build a building and then having a parking deck attached somewhat similar to what is on University blvd between 12th and 13th. Adding parking as well as classroom space.
The rendering seems to indicate the new building on the parking lot. You can see Campbell Hall in the background over the pedestrian bridge.

Yep, that pedestrian bridge is the key, I hadn't looked that close at it, often renderings don't depict accuracy in the background, etc.
