Matt Johnson hip injury.
Just announced on TV. Tough break.
Wow. Never want someone to get inured, even if it's BG.

This is why it makes sense to have at least 3 quarterbacks who can run the offense. Campbell prepares for the unexpected.
BG has absolutely no one behind Johnson who has any college game experience. They now will throw Knapke to the wolves.

Big problem for BGSO

Was that really different than what you have with Ely?

Knapke is highly regarded and will be fine.

Tough break----don't like to see that happen to anyone, even BG.

Back-up to QB AJ McCarron on FBS National Championship Team
HS Army Bowl All-American
QB'd HS team that won a couple Fl HS Championships
Has performed at high level in high pressure situations

Yeah, I would say that's different.
Very sorry to hear that. We have a couple guys who will likely lose the whole season as well. Vrry tough for those athletes to sit. Hope he is able to rehab and come back strong.
Boca, Ely didn't play at all in 2013 due to the transfer and only really saw action in 3 games in 2012.

My point was that Knapke doesn't really have any college game experience either, just like Ely.

And if you recall last year...Johnson took over the first week and took us to a title. Knapke is capable of doing the same. He's the only starting QB in Indiana history to win 3 state titles.

He'll be fine.
How does a kid at any level who QB'S his team to 3 state championships lands at BG? Is he 5'8"? Just sayin? Where was Purdue, Indiana, ND, Ball State?
Knapke is a true frosh and that's fine but Ely had several years to mature and understand college systems. I think there is a big difference between Ely and Knapke based on maturity and the amount of college experience. Ely has thrown countless passes, etc. against "fast" college D's and Knapke has not. Yes, Knapke probably will do fine but he will need a few games to adjust. He is a very talented QB

No, he isn't.
Okay, I think Ely looks good so far, but I think there has been some misinformation about Hume being the backup. He was actually 3rd string.

If he was 2nd string, he wouldn't have transferred and everyone would be talking about him vs. wV and not Sims.

Not saying 3rd string for Bama isn't impressive, but the misinformation is rampant.
The new kid is no slouch and he will have games under his belt when they come to the Glass Bowl.

Sorry to hear about Johnson. Fully recoverable? I can't think of a hip injury that serious.
