Scarbinsky with good things to say about the opening of the Bill Clark era.

Also, wonder when the last time was that the Opening Drive led off the conversation recapping a Saturday of football with UAB?
That was a good first minute and half then I shut'er down after that..lol.

Same.
Honestly, not interested in what he had to say or any of the others for that matter.

Also, not interested in any bandwagoners who are deciding to hop back on.

I would prefer new found fans who really want to get behind this program.

I have been watching us since almost day 1 including some club games. While I have been disappointed in the outcome quite a bit, I have never been disappointed with those who wanted to suit up for the green & gold.
As long as bandwagoners buy tickets and come to games I say "Climb Aboard" !!!
Me too. I get how you could be annoyed with these people, but getting new people to the games will hopefully prevent us from ever having 6000 people show up again.
We need every fan we can get.

If only "true fans" who have been on board since the club days can be fans, then it's a good thing we didn't spend all that money on the stadium.

THIS! I would welcome PBJr at a game if he buys a ticket.
I see people in gumpanalia at our games. It used to bother me. Then it occurred to me. That team is playing today, too, and they're at THIS game. Their butt clicked the Legion Field turnstile same as mine, and their money is green.
It still bothers me a little to see gump and awburn attire, but not as bad as it used to. Back when I was in undergrad, UAB played a Thursday night game with the Alabama logos all over the place. Bammers came into the stadium that night sitting by the band cheering for the visiting team. I've hated them ever since.
I have no problem with those who want to come see UAB play who have supported others teams or even follow other teams.

Those who leave when the going gets tough are the ones I have problems with.

I believe that is called a fraternity. 03-shhhh

Meh. Football is entertainment for most people. If they aren't entertained by it, why should they partake in it?

We have a vested interested in it, so even in the misery we can find value. To them? What is their hook?

It was just a little bait and you bit. :-)

I was joking.

Same. I saw many yesterday at the UAB game and wanted to say "Screw the Tide," but instead said, "Glad to have you at the game, Roll Blazers." Sorry if saying that was blasphemous but maybe football games are like church, make them feel welcome and they'll come back.
The Opening Drive is usually very nice about UAB. Lets quit complaining about them. Tony Kurrie actually brought his family to the game. Tony recapped the entire game two or three times. Plugged us hard. Could we ever just be thankful? I actually called into Round Table and as soon as I got off Lance Taylor made attendance smack. It wasnt even remotely necessary. That's the kind of media I'm against. Jay and Al have been respectful of UAB as well. Not to mention they have Coach on all the time. He's back on this Thursday. I'm happy for the coverage the Opening Drive provides us, it's a hell of a lot better than most the local media. Also for all his pot stirring ability, Scarbinsky is one of the first to point out when UAB does something right.

+1 I respect the OD guys. They aren't always great, but they are not malicious and under-handed toward UAB.

You can be nice and patronizing or condescending at the same time.
