They have us preseason ranked at #53, which is pretty respectable. We're ahead of teams such as Oregon St., Georgia Tech, and Maryland.
They note as a strong point the fact that we return 8 offensive starters and 10 defensive starters.

Steele's ranks the Rocket OL as the #14 OL unit in the nation.
I'm sure if we had a proven QB returning, we would be much higher in those rankings. If Ely or Woodside or any others can prove to be all-MAC caliber (even third team), we will be in the championship hunt. Owens did not play well last year, and we still had our shot. Having Parmalee out for so much of the season was too much to overcome - along with not figuring out how to stop Lynch (like BG did)

Parmalee missed the entire season and the several before that. Fluellen's absence hurt us worse.

Beckman just lost his OL coach at Illinois, will he come picking on his old staff? Seems the strength of the offense is supposed to be up front! He took a few of his coaches when he left did he not?
