UAB's Elinor Kirk hopes second time around is better at NCAA track and field nationals

Outstanding talent and drive, in a wonderful young lady. She is a great ambassador for UAB.

I'm pulling for her in the NCAA's. Nice to have a NCAA champion in Green and Gold.

She finished third in the 3,000 meter event. (Running for "Alabama-B'ham")

Didn't know she was running in the steeplechase, as that's the only 3,000 meter event I know of in the NCAA's. She did finish first in the 5,000 meter at the East Regionals and qualified #1 nationally.

I think Ms. Kirk will run at 7:15 PM on Thursday 06-12 (10,000 meter) and at 3:24 PM on Saturday 06-14 (5,000 meter).

Neal Tisher will compete in the pole vault at 3:15 on Friday 06-13.

Elinor finishes 2nd in the 10,000 meter. She had the lead in the last lap & battled it out to finish in 2nd a few seconds back.
