We're number 47!!!! We're number 47!!!!
At this point Ark. St. appears to have the best shot at a Sun Belt conference at-large selection other than Louisiana. I think the magic number is probably about 40 or below. If Ark. St. can get to 35 plus wins and has a RPI under 40 they have a real shot.

We need quality wins. Badly. If we had already played ULL, we would basically be out. But because we have the series still to play, and a home game with Ole Miss, we've got the best shot.

I still think our best shot involves an SBC Tourney run though. We're one of the few SBC teams with the pitching depth to go deep in the tourney if need be.
I am pulling for 2 SBC teams to get in. This year is a down year for the Belt in baseball as last year 4 teams got in. South Alabama and Troy are normally much better than they appear to be this year.

Every two to three years the SBC goes through a one year cycle where the quality of the league is down. It usually rotates which team it is, but its primarily because of how hard it is to recruit at the same high level.

Two years ago, ULL didn't even make the conference tourney. Troy lost most of their offense last year. USA lost most of their offense, and is still making some adjustments thanks to their last coaching change.

Things to take heart in though. USA and Troy will not stay down for long. ULL returns a lot of its pitching staff, and enough of the offense, Texas State is very young, and ASU has only 4 seniors on its entire roster.

The league wont be down long

Chief, I'm not sure where you are getting your information about UL because it is not accurate. The Cajuns could have anywhere from 7 to 8 players drafted, all starters including all three weekend starters. Several players will have their degrees after the season and not return. UL signed 16 athletes early and plan to sign several more this month.

Caleb Adams
Seth Harrison
Jace Conrade
Austin Robichaux
Ryan Leonards
Greg Milhorn
Carson Baranik

All these are certain to be drafted

Matt Plitt
Mike Strentz

Possible late round

I was just going by roster, didn't want to hazard to guess whether or not players would stay or go pro.

Thanks CatMom - I was about to ask when Texas Southern joined the Sun Belt.
Who is number 155?
GaSt I'd imagine

So, in your efforts not to guess you speculated? LOL!!! UL will definately be rebuilding. This is our second year in this run with this class. Two straight regionals from this class would be great!

It's not even really that funny anymore.

#94 - Georgia Southern
#183 - App State

We are on the brink of moving up with a few more series wins. We are 4-3 against top 50 teams, but keep going 2-1 or 1-2 against 100-200 teams.

Sorry CatMom, Texas State and Georgia State fans. I fixed it in the original post also. I know how aggravating it is when people gets your name wrong or calls you by your wrong name. I fixed Georgia St. also, by just putting their name, so hopefully I can't get it wrong.

Now maybe people can understand what we have been dealing with for the past 15 yrs.

Coaches in the SBC constantly call us Lafayette. You would think Coaches in your Conference would call us by our correct name. They can call us UL Lafayette or Louisiana Lafayette if they wish, but there is another school named Lafayette and its not us. On TV they like LaLaf, among others.

I apologize for the screw ups.
