First Herrion is fired, and now this

Well, that program will be in the dumps for a few years now.
Marshal missed on a golden opportunity. When Herrion was hired he brought in some really good players and Marshal seemed to be positioned for long term success. But bad program and player management and, maybe some bad coaching, the program never lived up to its potential and the upward spiral reversed.
Yeah, they got some great players there. It sounded like Herrion wasn't a good disciplinarian and he played favorites with certain players. For whatever reason, he was a terrible coach.
Anybody leaving that we'd want to poach?
Is Shane Hall going to Marshall or Western Kentucky?

maybe someone in the swim ream
Poaching in the swim ream.
I'd take a kareem Canty on our team. he'd obviously have to sit out a season but it'd definitely be worth having him the next two seasons.
We lost a recruit to Marshall. I wonder if he will re open his recruiting.

It was Shane Hall. Not sure if we lost him or got other players instead.
We lost out on Shane Hall. Richie Riley had been recruiting him while at Eastern Kentucky. Uab was considered the favorite by some. Kid had 2 ankle injuries in junior year that slowed his recruitment. Still managed to avg. 17 pts and 9 Rebs his junior year. 3rd best player of the 2014 class in Kentucky. Averaged 18 pts and 11 Rebs senior year. Bout to play for state championship as well. Had offers from Uab, Marshall, WKU, Tennessee, Butler. Those are the ones i remember. Late interest from Indiana.

Like Haase said he reacted, William lee was a huge surprise.
Things are so bad, they lost an L.
It is bad. First DeAndre Kane leaves for Iowa State and it seems as if Fred Hoiberg has been able to contain his emotions and turn him into a first team Big 12 performer. He was named MOP of the conference tournament last night. He become the first player with 2000 points, 700 rebounds and 600 assists in 15 years this week also. Very highly touted recruit Justin Coleman, who originally signed with Louisville, played with Marshall for about half of a season it seemed before he left the team. Canty was a very highly regarded PG out of New York but he can't seem to control his emotions on twitter as he's threatened to leave a dozen times this season alone. Chris Thomas was supposed to be one of the most sought after Juco players when he signed with Marshall this year. The pieces have seemed to been there. Something just didn't click. The last two years have been extremely painful to watch. Hopefully Mike Hameick can make a good hire and get the program back on track.
No offense but when was Marshall basketball ontrack
Good luck to y'all. We know how painful it can be.
Two years ago when Marshall was squarely on the bubble playing for a conference championship I thought the program was on track. They were recieving votes in the polls to start the next season. I'd consider that to be on track and on par with most C-USA schools and above where many C-USA teams have been over recent years.
