Your University of Toledo Alumni Association would like to invite all Rocket basketball fans to join us in Cleveland, OH for the 2014 MAC Basketball Tournament.
The Alumni Association will again host a pre-game event before all men’s and women’s tournament games. Additionally, for the first time ever, we are offering bus trips to the men’s tournament games (the UT Women’s Basketball Fan Club is offering bus trips for the women’s games).
All pre-game parties for the men and women will begin two hours prior to tip-off of UT’s game(s) and will again be held at Harry Buffalo (2120 East 4th Street, Cleveland, OH 44115) just across the street from Quicken Loans Arena. We will be joined by a member of the Rockets’ coaching staff, as well as the UT band and cheerleaders. Space is limited to approximately 400 reservations. Advance reservations are required for the men’s game(s) because of anticipated demand; walk-ins will be accepted based upon availability. Admission to each pre-game event is $10 per person and it’s a great value! For example, with the men confirmed to play at 9 p.m. on Friday, our 7 p.m. all-you-can-eat menu includes a house salad with dinner rolls, crab cakes, fried ravioli, chicken tenders, vegetable eggrolls, penne pasta with marinara, pizza, pork sliders, and soft drinks. A cash bar will be available.
For those who would like to leave the driving to us, the Alumni Association is offering a bus trip package for Friday, March 14 (and again on Saturday, March 15 if the Rockets’ advance to the finals). Friday’s full bus trip package includes your game ticket, bus ride, tolls, bus driver tip and the pre-game event at $75 per person. If you already have your game ticket then there is also a package that includes the bus ride, tolls, bus driver tip and the pre-game party for only $41 per person. Check-in for the busses will be at Rocket Hall (corner of Dorr and Secor) five hours prior to the scheduled tip. With the Rockets in the 9 p.m. game, we’ll start check-in at 4 p.m. A Saturday appearance means a 1:30 p.m. check-in. The cost for Saturday’s bus trip will be $85 per person with a ticket, $51 without. We will return to Toledo immediately following our game.
These bus trips are being offered at-cost by your Alumni Association. The difference in pricing from Friday to Saturday is because of the need to use different bus companies for the trips. 150 seats are available each day on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be made for either Friday, Saturday or both.
If you pre-pay for the Saturday, March 15 bus trip package or the pre-game event and the unfortunate circumstance arises that we do not advance to the championship game, your money will be refunded. If you choose to register on-line please contact us on Monday, March 17 to give us your credit card information so that we may process a full refund (the Alumni Association uses a secure third-party vendor to process on-line charges and cannot view credit card numbers).
