Any local fans seen this kid?

"Toledo St. Johns 6’9′ senior PF Parker Ernsthausen is the rare find. He is a late developing player whose skill set is similar to a European 4-man. As a junior, he was a piece off the bench for the Titans, at 6’4”. He can shoot it, handle it and move on the perimeter like a 6’4” guard but can impact a game with his length and size at 6’9”. While not at the same level, his skill set development is reminiscent of Kentucky great and current New Orleans Pelican, Anthony Davis.

Ernsthausen played well Sunday in Cincinnati at Moeller. He competed with Moeller’s 6’8” Junior Nate Fowler the entire game. He hit shots, played well in pick n pop situations and competed physically. Ernsthausen finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and took two charges in a 50-39 Moeller win.

Ernsthausen will rise in the rankings. He has earned it." - By: Brad Konerman

I suppose that's what coaches are for, to evaluate talent but that's certainly not the game I saw. He didn't compete against Fowler or Anton at all. They easily pushed him around and held to receive the over the top passes. He didn't show particularly good or quick feet and didn't become effective until he moved away from the basket. Quite honestly, I thought Moeller pulled off the dogs in the second half, so I wouldn't use that as much for evaluation purposes.

What I thought he did have was height and a good midrange and maybe further shot. If he builds strength.... When I see a player with that height and good work ethic, a player to remember is the Taylor kid at SJJ. Really didn't shine at all but continued to develop physically then brought it all against an extremely good Canton McKinley team. Went to Hillsdale as I recall then followed another Johnnie over to Xavier. Left a lot of people scratching their heads how that got pulled off but it happened so whose business is it how it happened. Not sure what because of him after Xavier.

If this kid is growing that much still, there will be a place for him somewhere.
