Wonder which coaching vacancy it is. I thought I had heard/read somewhere that OU has lost a couple coaches in the past month or two. Offensive Coordinator? Could UT promote Ishpording to Offensive Coordinator/QB coach as a counter? Given our inconsistency the past couple seasons on offense, the need to break in a new QB next season, and the recent loss of Associate HC/RB Coach Ayeni to Iowa State, I am concerned that another staff vacancy may not be helpful...of course, if its gonna happen, now before Spring Ball is probably a "best case" scenario...

I saw a tweet that they were looking at him to fill their QB coach vacancy. And they lost 3 coaches to Vanderbilt.
Given the talent at QB we have in-house at the moment, I think Ishpording a much better chance at making the BIG jump by staying here a couple years. His recruits. His development.
Maybe they are throwing a good raise at him.
Isn't Vanderbilt in the SEC? If he makes a lateral move in the MAC that says a lot the where UT is headed.
Ohio contacting him doesn't mean much. His accepting--well, that could mean a number of things...

True. Tuke and Saia leaving was one thing...losing our Associate Head Coach/RB coach was a very different matter. Losing our QB coach at a time when we need to develop our new QBs and have invested in 3 of them between last freshmen class and this next one would be a problem. Are guys now looking to jump ship before Campbell's next season? Or is it about the $? I agree that moving to OU should be seen at best as a lateral move career-wise...Ohio isn't Iowa State.
Maybe he is being told to look at other options? I don't know about you, but our QB development isn't stellar...did TO improve since his Soph year?
I think it's hard to say. Dantin and TO had some pretty good numbers for a couple years. A lot of the completions didn't go anywhere, but their percentages were good. Dantin couldn't throw downfield too well. TO--I blame TO's performance this past season on TO. It isn't the coach's fault he wouldn't throw to the TE's or Olack. If you noticed, toward the end of the season when he started giving Olack a good ball he was catching them and we were moving the football. TO little TO late.
It seems to me that if they want him they can have him. We saw no increase in the quality of QB play over the past couple yrs.
Coaching Search is reporting that coach Isphording is most likely
joining the staff at Ohio.

Ryan tweeted that OU wild give him co-OC title, which equals higher pay. Makes more sense now.
Not sure which is more important, the title or the pay but hopefully it's only a ploy. I don't think we would have gotten these excellent QB recruits if he didn't have the reputation and I wonder if his going to OU sparked Wake's interests in Smith. There seems to be a connection between those two schools, right?
Is he the one that recruited Smith. It would be nice to keep smith but TO did not develope well at all. I think that is the Place to start. I don't know if he was the right man for the job anyhow

According to Ryan he is (was?) the main one recruiting Smith.

Only one question. Did he do a good job developing our quarterbacks?
He didn't recruit Dantin or TO, did he??? Was not here I believe. Dantin had limited arm strength. TO was an athletic person assigned to the QB position. I like him as a person, but never felt he had a huge upside. Anyway, If not I don't think he can be effectively evaluated. Now if he stays, I would have more of an opinion after next season.

One more question: Are we sure we know what we're doing losing Ishphording to keep Candle?
