Perhaps the Athletic dept. can get her Romanian address so UAB fans can send such essential extras as her favorite foods, condiments, etc. An occasional "Care" package can warm a person's heart that far from home.

You realize she's getting paid to go over there, right? She's not doing mission or charity work and she's not in the military.

You realize the American service personnel overseas are also paid and are not doing "missionary or charity work" in Germany, England, Italy, Japan, etc.. That doesn't mean we should shut down the USO or any of the other support activities. A "CARE" package means just that - we remember your service for UAB and want to remind you that we appreciate it and have not forgotten you. BTW, Very few of us get gifts that are beyond our own ability to afford to pay for them ourselves.
Why haven't you sent gifts to any of the male former basketball players?

It's pretty creepy.

It's pretty creepy.

I don't think male service members make more than female service members, but male sports figures make a far greater amount than female athletes in pro BB. Besides, it is about appreciation, not need.

I think everyone can agree that is creepy.

They normally are hidden back there with the vitamins.
She is a complete baller

Yes she is...And a genuine sweetheart off the court as well. I hope she has a blast with this experience. Wish that she could have found her way on a WNBA roster so I could at least make a road trip to see her play in person. Romania is a little too far away for me to get to. I'm there in spirit for her, though! Read one of her tweets about her practicing regimen, and she appears to be enjoying herself.
