Not enough $$$$$ (JMO). He was good at Rutgers......they were paying him 2 million a year though.
That's what I figured. I'm sure he will end up with another major head coaching gig before the 2014 season starts.
Is Tampa still paying Schiano not to coach ?

I agree, he did a magnificent job with the Scarlet Knights, he transformed the entire culture of that program. I hate that his NFL experience was not as successful. I'm surprised that after Franklin took the Penn State job, that Vanderbilt did not reach out to Schiano about their recent vacancy. As for UAB, I would love it if Schiano were to become the new head football coach, but too many forces at work to prevent that from ever occurring. #ChopWood

It'll either be UMass or Vandy, unless someone else gets fired.
Is anyone else hiring? I didn't know the Wyoming job was available until the North Dakota State guy took it.
Schiano can wait for a very good job to open. Trust me, he's in no rush or under any pressure to take just "any" job.
Not gonna happen. We couldn't even spell McGee's name correctly.

This is a guy who for some time was considered a very possible successor to JoePa at Penn St. While failing at NFL coaching may take a little shine off, but there have been many college coaches who didn't make it as an NFL HC.
He'll get another job, and with three years left on his existing contract he can afford to be picky.
They'll be ice skating on ponds in Hell before he comes to UAB.
