top 100 Indiana univ recruit luke fischer a 6-11 center is amicably transferring out. no rumors where yet but kowalczyk worked under tom crean (IU's coach) at Marquette and also is well connected in Wisconsin where fischer is from, so don't be surprised if Toledo has a connection and makes a push for him to visit. coach k is sitting on a few scholarships and a 1st yr transfer big man would be a good fit for class balance.
Took a quick look at what he has done to date at IU, he has played in 13 of 14 games, avg 10 min., 2 ppg., 2 rpg. He is no longer listed on the roster. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, should he enroll in school for the next semester, whether at UT or somewhere else, he would sit out the rest of this year and the first half of next.
It makes sense, I think TK is holding out for a transfer. We really do not need help for next year. If Aparecio(spelling) is as advertised he can join the rotation, Lemons who I think is the type of kid who will improve or Stuckey the frosh will join the rotation. Im sure Stuckey will red shirt if Lemons beats him out.

Tk is careful to take transfers who he thinks can add to the spirit of the team... attitude and personality are as important as athleticism.

We get 13 schollies correct? we have two left. I have not heard a word about anyone else on the recruiting radar.
According to verbalcommits.com UT has 14 offers out. Of those 2 are for PF's and none to the center pos. They need more depth at center.

We had offers out to centers, they just signed with other schools. IMO, we need an athletic big man 6-8+ for next year.
I am a bit suprised at our relative lack of success during the "early signing" period...no offense intended to Stuckey--just surprised we didn't sign a couple more of our targets, who did seem to sign with MAC-level schools. Hopefully that means that we are being considered by some recruits who are also being recruited by "bigger" programs, and we'll be lucky enough to snare a couple of them?

One can only hope. Who wouldn't want to come to Toledo to play ball with the direction our program is going and our facilities. We could definitely use a true big post player in this signing period.
Given Coach K's recruiting history and the fact that we have two scholarships left for next year, I'm guessing we'll sign at least one transfer. I would be surprised, though, to get Fischer, who will be targeted by many high-major schools.
I was just asking someone earlier today about Angel Aparicio. Does anyone know his status? I haven't heard anything in a very long time and have no clue what's happening with him.

He's on the bench every game and I'm assuming he practices. Gotta be tough to be out of competition for two years. He may be playing some Euro ball in summer, dunno.
Just a guess on my part but I think they have one or two specific targets on mind for the center spot that we are not hearing about. With the depth they have on this team they can be selective. Signing the sg Mosley was a head scratcher. That will make 5 on the roster next yr.

Mosley had offers from Brown, Columbia and several other highly rated academics and he's a 2 star, which is UTs median. Maybe it's not a head scratcher for a program not long ago having grade problems? Security?

I believe I read somewhere that he should be ready for the 2nd half of the season.

Other schools were using Toledo's depth of talent as a reason for the recruits not to come to Toledo. Saying there would be little or no playing time for them.
Aparecio had knee surgery and I believe he is out until next year, he will have 2 years remaining. That would be a good question for TK at the radio show. You have to take a a small guard nearly every year... Lemons has to develop or they will need Stuckey. Too bad there isn't anyone around here to recruit... last year was amazing for D1 talent.

A while back Kowalczyk said that Aparicio would play this year. I'm not sure if he said exactly when. I believe that Aparicio has only this year and next year left eligibility-wise, whether he plays this year or not.
Well, this aint happening. He's headed to Marquette.

For a second there I thought you meant Aparacio. Couldn't figure THAT one out.
