During the ND/OSU game on the ESPN2, they put up a graphic listing the 10 remaining unbeatens. Dan Shulman asks Dakich about Iowa State, who was to be playing in that Hawaii tournament tomorrow against also-currently-unbeaten Saint Mary's.

Dakich: "Iowa State to me very athletic, getting 'em away from home is gonna be interesting, but the team I like Dan, is right here--Toledo [circles Toledo on telestrator]. Tod Kowalczyk has done an amazing job taking over a complete train wreck of a program, and has 'em playing tough, playing hard, good schedule..."

Then he concluded his thoughts on Iowa State (likely following a 'nudge' from ESPN's director of marketing and programming) and went back to the game at hand.

Yeah, I guess that Dan Dakich is a cool cat. Toledo on the Sports Channel. And it wasn't even Tuesday!
As big of a jack ass Dakich was when he coached that school down south, he actually a really good color guy. He is one of the better ones that ESPN has.
I agree I love him as a TV guy. I also didn't mind when he would do a radio interview on the drive home. Listening to Stan at the same era was like listening to paint dry. Stan seemed to have no personality off the court. Datkich was at least entertaining. I think he also does a radio show in Indy.
I really didn't mind Dan while he was down south. At least he had a quality resume before he got there. I know he and Stan didn't see eye to eye. Stan may not have sounded good on the radio, but he was great to talk to one on one.
i like Dan - he is a great personality! I liked it when he wore his blazer backwards!
I liked the commercials Dakich did for CJ's Bar at Al-Mar Lanes. Those were a riot!

"This is Bowling Green head coach Dan Dakich. Everyone knows how much I love Bowling Green, and some of you know how much I love cheeseburgers, I can't get enough of 'em."
I like Dakich.
Good coach.
Excellent on the radio.
Haven't really seen him on tv because I don't watch televised basketball.
I always loved the battles and the hatred between Stan and Dan. Great games and great, strong personalities. I actually like the guy. I think he is not afraid to speak his mind and there is something to be said for that.

I am very excited to see the Rockets take on the Jayhawks. My alma mater nearly upset Duke (Vermont). Play tough, be confident, eliminate unforced errors and we have a chance.

Kind of game where Juice usually comes up big. If he can keep people involved and find his shot, we'll compete.
The one thing that I am most impressed with this group is the fact that they don't panic. How many times over the last couple of years did we just hand the game to the other team? This team is different. No panic. Tough, old school basketball. They are able to find ways to win the games. It is good that they have had to win 4 or 5 close games. Shows their character. I have been impressed with Tod since the day he walked on campus.
