As always, a great game, full of anguish (lots of missed free throws and layups), intrigue, anxiety but eventual relief that the ladies were able to hold serve and keep the Blazers basketball record unblemished on the new floor.
It's a good thing those officials have a good sense of humor after some of the things Smaug said to them during the game, especially the one male official that Smauggie said looked like Tiger Woods, the guy cracked a smile as he ran downcourt after that. The guy's a master heckler, I have to say.
I sat courtside not far from he and another BT'er, the "Marathon Man" himself. I tell you, George Mason has this one young lady that was lighting it up, Moore is her last name, #31. She was "En Fuego!"
She and Pickard were killing us. Getting her in foul trouble was as much a factor in our winning as anything.
Getting Pickard in foul trouble was the key in that game. Our scoring spurts happened when she was on the bench.
