Southern Illinois is 2-8 after losing at Murray State Tuesday night. At the postgame news conference Coach Hinson let everyone know what he thought about the play of his squad.

Apparently he apologized today, but here's a link to Hinson's comments Tuesday night.

I haven't followed SIU in a long, long time; however, I do remember them having some very good teams in the mid 1960's under Coach Jack Hartman before he moved on to Kansas State. They won the NIT in 1967 with Walt ("Clyde") Frazier who later went on to an illustrious NBA career with the Knicks beating Duke, Rutgers and Marquette along the way .
I think BSU has them next game. Hopefully we can have a Hinson 2.0.....

Those Knick-Duke games were classics.

I'll say. There's no other rivalry in sports quite like Rutgers-Knicks.

Well, Brazil v. Seahawks comes close if you're talking baseball. Or maybe Hamburg SV vs. Colts (back when they were still in Baltimore, naturally.) But as long as we're talking Women's BBall, landing seats on the 50 yard line of a Rutgers-Knicks match is on my bucket list. That would be sweet!

Geez---I hate those "lost clauses"---not a total loss I guess as they are good for few chuckles. Anyway, thanks the for the catch---of course it should have read:

"They won the NIT in 1967 beating Duke, Rutgers and Marquette along the way with Walt ("Clyde") Frazier who later went on to an illustrious NBA career with the Knicks ."
