The phrase the enemy of my enemy is my friend (sometimes shortened to enemy mine) is a proverb that advances the concept that because two parties have a common enemy, they can work with each other to advance their common goals.

Any of you guys heading up to the Detroit bird plucking?

No, but I hope you beat them badly, and get your well deserved BCS Bowl.
I was sort of hoping to be able to but unfortunately it is not in the cards. I will definitely be hoping for a massacre at the hands of the Huskies though!
I hate you guys, but I hate BG much more. Even if they were an 0-12 team. For example if I had one dirty bomb and a choice. I could foresee the future and saw 4 league champs in a row if I set the direction toward NIU or no league championships if directed toward the school down south. It would take one tenth of a second to direct it SOUTH....Now that is a rival!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, 40-0 sounds good. Good Luck NIU.
UT has a game that night but I'll bbe sneaking peeks at NIU's winning sscoree..
Not that I care much about money, but I can give 17 million reasons why any MAC fan, BG included will root for the Dogs.
I don't have anything against NIU (except that Jamal Bass BS from 2 years ago) - but I have a lot of friends that went to BG, so I don't hate them unless we are playing them. So I guess I'm somewhat indifferent in this one. Somewhat pulling for BG, but don't want to listen to arrogance of having a MAC championship even though they have lost to us something like 3 or 4 times in a row - including this season. Also don't like the talk of NIU being dominant from their fans. Sounds too much like the smack that came from Marshall fans.

So - if it goes to OT, then I guess I would want to see BG win. don't hate on me...

But then again, there is the BCS money for the conference.

I'm conflicted...
Roll, Huskie's Roll....At the minimum, I want the MAC title to go to a fellow west team. Going to a BCS bowl is good for the conference. Publicity for Lynch is good for the conference. The potential payday is good for the conference even though I have no idea where the money goes? Anyone know how Bowl money trickles down to the rest of the conf.? I had heard at one time the conf. was 2-3 years behind diseminating money to schools from the bowls.

Sill irks me to hear guys in my gym locker room (in Toledo) talking about going up to see BG play. Drives me nuts that we're not there.
I'm pulling (no pun intended) for NW Ohio, even if it isn't us.
Told Huskie mobileman and other NIU fans tailgating, that I'd be a Huskie fan the rest of the way, contingent on them knocking the Rockets off. Well, once again - GO HUSKIES !!!04-cheers04-cheers
To me rooting for BG doesn't make sense, BG is in the east? It does midly justify UT having a tougher schedule by having the champ come from the west. IMO there is more benefit to the conf. by having NIU win out. Our ship sailed, we don't have a dog in the fight anymore, we're not playing for a champ, we already beat BG, we are keeping our fingers crossed for a bowl. Plus it's just BG, nuff said. I root for NW ohio on the HS football radar when we get to the playoffs even though I have no vested interest in the teams, but it's cool when teams from the area beat teams from the Big three C's. My same feelings don't apply to college teams.

OT - I was flipping through the channels last night and Bear Grylls has a new show. The show is cheezy, but he wears his signature clothing line and right on the chest of his jacket it says BG, makes me ill to see it on national television. In some wierd way it's like free advertising for the school down south. Ratfarts.

Desperate? Worried that you're not going to have enough NIU fans? 05-stirthepot

And for the TU fans, if BG wins don't expect too much gloating. They haven't won a title in ages and haven't beaten TU in 4 years. Trust me, they'd just be really really happy to pleasantly enjoy the title.

The MAC showcasing the #4 team (bg) vs. #1 TEAM (NIU) for the conference title.........03-puke
#4 Team? Since when does the MAC rank teams?
BG proves they are better than us with a win today, even with the head to head loss... But if NIU beats up on em, it shows they are a product of a weaker division. I like that and the BCS money better!

Nope, they actually came up with a foolproof way to prove which of two teams is better.

Since when did he say that was the MAC's ranking?

But I get what you're saying...but that's not really the point. 04-cheers

Right. It's pointless.
