Yes, attendance was PATHETIC. I mean, embarrassing! But, Bham News makes it a headline??

It riles up the bammers, so they're going to keep writing about it. It's that simple.
Meanwhile Jon Solomon has locked himself in the bathroom with the print edition.

He will return momentarily, flush, but gratified.
Before anyone jumps on a beat writer I'm pretty sure he was told he had to write that let's leave it at that.

One has to wonder the true motives behind to certain people at the Birmingham news.
This just came at a bad time. This was a nationally televised game during a week that Auburn is off, and Alabama plays an FCS team. With that perfect storm the things that usually deflect from UAB's attendance arent there this week.
UAB made this news with the move to the other side. It caught national notice, so naturally it becomes a story. If they had done nothing, attendance wouldn't be a story, because it is old news.
I hate attendance articles but that low of a number was bound to make headlines.

The main thing detracting from UAB attendance is losing. On a Thursday night against Rice with another losing season assured, we were bound to have this. It isn't a story. It is a consequence of a decade of losing.

Yep. We set ourselves up for that for a game that was gonna be lowly attended anyway...
I'm worried that we may have a worse turnout for the USM game.

A few USM fans might actually show up to see if their team can end the streak.

Yep, a few diehards, like the UAB fans who made it to Nashville and Baton Rouge.

Yep, and some of them will leave at halftime to watch another game in the state that starts at 2:30.
I will be there and I couldn't give two ***** about any other game being played that day.
I heard the game might be moved to an earlier time to accommodate the Iron Bowl. Any truth to this?
It's already at noon.

+1

I still answer UAB when people ask who am I pulling for. It baffles them.
We could move the game to 4am and when people say something about the attendance being bad, we can say it was a pretty good crowd for 4am
